How can I rent?

💫 Renting is simple! Just right-click and pay the mailbox located at the home you'd like to rent. Once your payment is complete, you'll automatically receive everything you need, including important notecards and helpful information to get started.Shortly after, a member of our team will personally reach out to provide you with all of our amenity landmarks, additional resources, and anything else you need to make your experience at The Hills enjoyable from day one.

I like a home but want to change some furniture, is this possible?

Absolutely! At The Hills, we want every resident to feel at home, so we're happy to offer a reasonable level of customization for our furnished homes.If your home comes furnished or fully furnished, we can typically accommodate requests such as removing or swapping a bed, couch, TV, or similar furniture. We can also remove a children's room if you don't need one, or discuss options if you need a children's room and the home doesn't already include one.While we do not offer complete home furnishing remodels as part of a rental, we strive to be as flexible as possible. If you're interested in more extensive changes or would like to use our design services, please contact TheHillsEstates Resident directly to discuss your vision.For larger customization projects that require significant revisions, we may ask that you prepay at least two weeks of rent (depending on the scope of the project). This helps ensure the home is intended for a long-term resident, as extensive furniture modifications require considerable time and effort from our team.✨ We're always happy to discuss your ideas, so don't hesitate to reach out, we'll do our best to make your new home perfect for you!

If I am a current tenant and see another home I like can I rent it?

Many of our residents choose to have more than one home at The Hills, while others decide to transfer to a different home as their needs change.If you've found a home you'd like, simply pay the mailbox at the new home for your first week's rent to secure it. Our homes rent very quickly, so we highly recommend securing the home as soon as possible to avoid missing out.If you're transferring to a new home, your first transfer with us includes a complimentary time transfer after you pay first week's rent on the new home. For full details about our transfer policy, please refer to the notecard you received when renting or reach out to TheHillsEstates Resident anytime for assistance.

Can anyone see or hear me or my guests inside my parcel?

NO! ⛔ Your privacy is one of our highest priorities at The Hills. Your home is located on a completely private parcel, meaning no one outside of your parcel can see or hear you or your guests. This privacy also extends to Nearby Chat and gestures, so conversations, sounds, and gestures within your home all remain private. Enjoy your space comfortably, with complete peace of mind!As a luxury, upscale community, we're committed to providing a safe, secure, and private living experience, so this is never something you'll need to worry about.

Can I reserve a home that I like?

🌴 Due to our limited availability, all of our homes are rented on a first come, first served basis. However, if there's a home that's currently occupied and you don't want to miss the opportunity to rent it, we offer a Home Reservation Deposit.By placing a reservation deposit equal to half of one week's rent, you'll be able to rent the home when it becomes available. Your deposit is fully applied toward your first week's rent, so you're simply securing your place in line.🌟 To reserve a home, simply pay the "Deposits" mailbox located in our Rental Office and include the home number in the payment description. Once you've made your payment, please reach out to our team so we can confirm your reservation. If you'd prefer, you can also contact us directly, and we'll be happy to assist you every step of the way.✨ Reserving a home is the best way to ensure you don't miss out on the home you've been waiting for.

How does your waiting list work?

Joining our waiting list is easy! Simply click here or use the Waiting List Board located in our Rental Office to be added automatically. TP to our rental office HERE• Our waiting list works a little differently than a traditional one. Rather than waiting for your turn in line, you'll receive a landmark notification every time a new home becomes available. This gives everyone on the waiting list the opportunity to view and rent newly available homes as soon as they're released. • If you’re interested in a specific home, the fastest way to get it is to click the mailbox at that home, select “Notify Me,” and enter your information. By doing this, you’ll be notified ASAP as soon as that specific home becomes available, giving you the best chance to secure it before someone else.✨ Because our homes rent quickly, joining the waiting list is the best way to stay informed, secure the home you want, and never miss a new availability.

Can I pay monthly?

Absolutely! We offer flexible payment options to make renting as convenient as possible. While only your first week's rent is required to get started, you're welcome to pay weekly, monthly, several months in advance, or even an entire year - whatever works best for you.To pay for multiple weeks at once, simply click your mailbox and select the fourth payment option. Each payment box represents one week's rent, allowing you to easily pay as far in advance as you'd like.😊 If you have any questions about payment options or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our team anytime, we're always happy to help.

How do I arm/use my security system?

We take privacy and security very seriously at The Hills. Our security systems are the most secure on the grid and include visitor tracking. To use your home’s security system, simply locate the doorbell outside your home next to your mailbox.To secure your home, click the doorbell and select Arm or Lockdown. Once your unit is armed, anyone who is not on your approved access list will be automatically denied entry, ejected, and banned from your private parcel.To manage your security settings:Add approved users: Click Access and follow the prompts to add them to your access list.Ban someone: Click Ban and add their name to the ban list.Unban someone: Click Ban and remove their name from the ban list.Remove a guest: Click Guests and follow the prompts to remove them.Your security system gives you complete control over who can enter your home, allowing you to enjoy your space with complete peace of mind.🚨 PLEASE REMEMBER: If you're expecting visitors, be sure to add them to your approved guest list or disarm your security system before they arrive. If someone enters while your system is armed and is automatically ejected, they will also be added to the parcel ban list, not just your security system’s ban list. Because this works differently from a standard doorbell ban, you will not be able to remove it yourself. If a guest is accidentally ejected and banned this way, simply contact us, and we’ll remove them from the parcel ban list for you as quickly as possible.

How Do I Pay Rent/Make sure I'm not late?

Simply right-click your mailbox outside your home, select Pay, and choose your payment amount. The options are one week, two weeks, three weeks, or one month. To pay further in advance, you can continue selecting the monthly option or contact us.We also send multiple reminders through IMs, notecards, and Instagram to help ensure you don’t miss your rent. We know RL can get hectic, and we don’t want you to risk losing your home, so we do our best to keep you reminded before your rental time expires!

Why can't my baby bot/alt/someone I know not enter the sim?

In most cases, this is because the avatar does not have payment information on file. To help maintain the highest level of privacy and security for our residents, The Hills restricts access to avatars without payment information. This helps protect our community from spam accounts, griefers, and trolls.If you'd like your guest to have access, simply Contact Us. 😊We'll be happy to add them to our Always Allowed list as quickly as possible.

Hep! I forgot to add/unarm my unit and my guests got banned?

Don't worry- it happens! At The Hills, we take privacy and security very seriously, which is why guests who aren't on your approved guest list will automatically be ejected and banned when your unit is armed.If one of your guests has been accidentally banned, simply Contact Us Here or by using the Staff Board in our Rental Office. We'll remove the ban as quickly as possible so your guest can return.🚨 To help prevent this in the future, remember to disarm your unit before inviting guests over or add them to your guest list ahead of time.

Can't Rezz?

If you're unable to rez objects, it's usually due to one of the following reasons:1. You're not wearing your tenant group tag.✨ Make sure you're wearing your The Hills Tenant group tag while rezzing. Objects can only be rezzed when the correct group tag is active.2. You joined our group before becoming a tenant.✨ If you joined The Hills group before renting, you may not have received the correct tenant role. Simply leave the group, then rejoin through your mailbox after renting. This will automatically assign you the proper tenant tag and restore your rezzing permissions.3. You're trying to rez directly on mesh.✨ Some mesh surfaces don't allow objects to rez properly. Simply rez a prim first, then rez your object on top of that prim.

How do I add/remove a subtenant?

Adding or removing a subtenant is quick and easy! Simply click your mailbox, located outside your home near the front door and select the option to add or remove a subtenant.Adding a subtenant will automatically grant them access to your security orb and other shared home permissions. If you'd prefer for them to only have rezzing permissions, you can easily remove their security orb access afterward while still allowing them to rez within your parcel.🤗 If you need any assistance managing your subtenant or permissions, feel free to reach out to our team anytime, we're always happy to help!

How do I give a guest right's to rezz in my home?

To give someone permission to rez in your home, simply add them as a subtenant through your mailbox located outside your home near the front door. Once added, they'll automatically receive a group invitation.If they're offline or don't receive the invitation, simply click your mailbox and select "Group Invite" to resend it. Once they join The Hills Tenant group under the tenant tag, they'll have permission to rez within your parcel.✨ You can remove their rezzing permissions at any time by removing them as a subtenant through your mailbox. If you need any assistance, our team is always happy to help.

Can I change the music in my home?

🥳 Absolutely! You're welcome to customize the music on your parcel at any time.Simply click World → Parcel Details → Sound, then copy and paste the music stream URL of your choice into the music field. Once saved, your custom music will begin playing throughout your parcel.
